Please disregard the previous mention of "Spring"!

Holy smokes, it's been chilly here! We got teased a little with some warm weather and now it's been rainy and in the 40's for several days now. ICK! Hopefully it will warm up and stop raining before Saturday's soccer games.

We've had another busy week, as usual! The kids are all keeping busy with their activities. Hollyn has stopped taking guitar lessons now. She loves the lessons, but the practicing......not so much! We sat her down and explained to her how she has to practice if she's taking lessons, otherwise it's just a waste of time and money for us and her teacher. So she said that she didn't want to anymore. I hope that she will take it up again some other time. Maybe when she's a little older. But she is really excited and praying that her soccer game doesn't get canceled again this weekend! Hunter is doing well in her piano. She doesn't get to practice as much as she would like, but she's still progressing. Her teacher is trying to get a recital together for next month. We had her 6th grade orientation tonight at Scott Middle School. It's so hard to believe that she'll be in Junior High next year! She just seems so much younger than Hadlee was when she started middle school. Anyway, she signed up to play the flute in the school band too. I would rather her stay with piano, but we'll let her try to do both and see what she decides. Hadlee is pumped and ready for her soccer game on Saturday. She got her papers in the mail today to get registered for the Southwest Silverhawks Soccer team and all the info about training, leagues, and clinics that she can do this summer to keep in shape and conditioned for try outs. A lot of the leagues and things they are suggesting are through the YMCA, but the coaches from Southwest will be running it, which will be good.

Hope and Asher are doing just fine too! Just being ornery and making messes all the time! I have just got to accept the fact that my house is not going to be clean for awhile! The girls have been doing a great job helping out with their chores......it just doesn't stay clean for very long at all. I'm vaguely starting to remember a few years ago thinking the same thoughts that I am now! "I'll clean that up when they are napping", or "How many of these toys can I get rid of"?, and the most frequent one is "where can I set up a play area so the toys aren't in the living room"? Ha ha ha! Asher still isn't really talking - just a few words - mama, dada, sissy, wow, uh oh, and his favorite......NO!! But he is all over the place! He doesn't walk anymore, he runs everywhere! He's doing really well at playing nice with sissy, for the most part! We still have the occasional hair pulling or fighting over toys, but they do pretty well together. His favorite show is still the Backyardigans and he watches it every morning.......twice! He loves to dance to the music. He loves being outside too. Our back yard should be fenced in about 3 weeks or so, so he can go out more then. Hopey is still the little angel she's always been! Getting cuter everyday! She is also into everything! As you can see in the picture, she also helps with the chores. She was cleaning off the bookshelves and sorting through mommy's ribbon. LOL! Actually, I had accidentally left my bedroom door open and she snuck in while I wasn't looking and went to town on anything that was within her reach! As you can see, she was very remorseful for the mess -- Ha ha ha! How can you do anything but laugh and smile right back at her no matter how big the mess she makes?! We should find out on Monday what Millie is going to do about getting her a stander. I'm so proud of her progress and want to do anything to help her progress even further, but there is a teensy weensy part of me saying, "Do you REALLY want her to learn to walk"? LOL! That's a joke! Of course I do! But can you imagine the messes then? Everything that is within her reach has just increased at least by 50% once she's vertical! I'm sure everyone will come over and take turns helping me clean, right?? :o)

By the way, the other picture is of Asher and Hollyn watching the Backyardigan's! We have it set to record on the DVR, so he can watch it anytime.

Spring must be here!

Today turned out to be pretty nice out, but the previous few days have been rainy and chilly. But there were THUNDERSTORMS - my favorite! I love listening to them at night! Thunderstorms always sets off my internal "Spring alarm clock"! The kids have really been enjoying the nice weather and being able to be outside also.

Hadlee had her first soccer game on Saturday. She did really well! She had 2 attempted goals, but they both got blocked. But she had a hold of the ball quite a bit. It was fun watching her play. Hadlee's game got Hollyn even more pumped up to play later that afternoon. She couldn't wait to get there! We loaded everyone up and drove all the way over to her soccer fields just to find everyone leaving when we got there. They had cancelled the game at the last minute due to a downpour that we totally missed out on on our side of town. She cried all the way home! Poor kid! So now she'll have to wait for 2 weeks to play because of Easter. Hunter will start her volleyball practice on Tuesday, so she's very excited about that! Her first game will be on April 15th.

Hope and Asher are doing well also - just a few short years until they will be involved in some sort of extra activity I'm sure! I told Nana and Papa the other day that with as many kids as we have, we could take up all their weekends for quite some time! LOL! They have been really great about being involved and interested in what the kids are doing. And of course the kids eat it up too! Especially if there is a lunch, dinner or ice cream involved after their games!

OK, got to get to bed now. Hopey has school tomorrow too! We'll find out what Miss Millie found out about getting her a stander! We're excited!

Oh, the pics are of Hadlee's game. She's in the yellow jersey with the pony tail. This is one of the times she was going in for a goal and it got blocked! Bummer!
